New leak unveils GTA V source code, GTA VI, and Bully 2 details

Rockstar Games experiences yet another security breach as the source code for Grand Theft Auto 5, and files for GTA 6 and Bully get leaked.

Previously, the individual who assisted in leaking GTA 6 gameplay footage last year was recently sentenced to an indefinite term in a psychiatric hospital. Furthermore, even the GTA 6 trailer was prematurely revealed, 15 hours ahead of schedule, in response to an earlier leak that had shared the trailer online.

There are indications that a 4GB file containing GTA V code was shared online, but there is uncertainty about whether the complete source code of the game, which is rumoured to be approximately 200GB in size, has also been disclosed on the internet. Some sources claim that it has, while others suggest that the smaller 4GB file, which includes an early version of the San Andreas map, represents the entirety of the leaked code.

According to GTA Focal, the files were publicly leaked through a Discord message that provided a download link for the GTA V source code. Although the link was promptly taken down, it has since been shared in other group chats using a Tor download link.

Apart from the GTA V source code, it is alleged that all of Rockstar’s files related to Bully 2, the unreleased follow-up to the 2008 game Bully, have also been exposed. Additionally, there are portions of code from the forthcoming GTA VI that validate the previous codename “Project Americas” for the game.
